An experienced Electrical Safety Test Engineer is required to work for a UK Based company in the Preston, Lancashire area. The role has been created due to their significant year on year growth. The ideal candidate will have experience of product testing and technical knowledge of safety requirements e.g. ATEX, EMC, LVD,MDD or Machinery Directive:.
The role
New product testing accordance to EU directives and EN standards such as Machinery Directive: 2006/42/EC, Low Voltage Directive: 2014/35/EU, EN 60335, etc.).
Responsible for the quality and safety approval of a wide range of consumer products
Producing the annual budget for testing requirements
Responsible for safety, quality, compliance and ethical issues
Working with vendors, Far East supplier’s and test houses to ensure product ranges meet European and International Standards
Oversee the ISO policy and procedures.
Assisting marketing, sales, procurement and Quality Assurance on a project basis
Control and maintenance of the internal REACH database
Monitoring Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) levels on out- going shipments from the Far East
Creating and maintaining technical files
The candidate will have
Test and compliance experience gained in laboratory, manufacturer or retailer
Confident in dealing with serious issues in a professional manner, responding on behalf of the company supplying correspondence, producing evidence of compliance etc.
